Description
This sketchbook of the artist belongs to the period spanning from 1989 to 1991. At that point of time, the artist was completely engaged as a professor at Santiniketan. The sketchbook contains two unique self-portraits. The floor plans of rooms the cost of soil and other materials noted in the book signify that he had undertaken the task of building a mud-house. During this phase, some of his art-works related to epics prove that he was going to be busy with the illustrations of the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. It again bears the utterance of his poetic self, ‘The moonlight emitted by the flowers with flavescent hues resonates in my heart/ Clouds of my childhood seem restless/ Hard times/In my slumber the jasmine becomes impatient…
