Description
In the decade of nineties, Jogen Choudhury, the artist did some illustrations for the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. After sometime, all those illustrations were published in form of a book. Beside, some of the rough sketches of those illustrations, one may find innumerable other line drawings in this sketchbook. The ceaseless movements of lines in this sketchbook, with that of his large paintings, impart a lesson for us that art is practice oriented. It seems relevant to mention that none of the sketchbooks of the artist expresses formality. Each of them is a mere notebook. Its sole purpose was to make informal sketches of anything and everything and whatever found during a stroll or whatever came to mind from time to time.
