এক দীর্ঘ সময়পর্ব ধরে এই খাতাটি শিল্পীর সান্নিধ্য পেয়েছে। ২০১৩ থেকে ২০১৭ পর্বের খাতা। এক অর্থে এই খাতা শিল্পীর সাম্প্রতিক কালের কাজের ধারাচিত্র। আয়তনেও এই খাতা যথেষ্ট স্বাস্থ্যবান। কারণ, এর যাত্রাপথও দীর্ঘ। রেখায় রেখায় অগুনতি ড্রয়িং-এ সমৃদ্ধ এই খাতা। এবং, এইসব মকশো থেকে গড়ে উঠেছে তাঁর সমসময়ের আকারগত দিক থেকে বেশ কিছু বড়ো কাজ। নানা পথ পরিক্রমা করতে করতে অনেক আলো বাতাসের সমন্বয়ে যে যোগেন চৌধুরী আজকের আধুনিক ভারতীয় শিল্পপরিসরে ‘ যো’, এই খাতা ধারণ করে আছে সেই ‘ যো’ পর্বের উজ্জ্বল সাক্ষর।

For quite a long time, this sketchbook enjoyed the proximity of the artist. It belongs to a period spanning from 2013 to 2017. In fact, this sketchbook records the continuum of the recent works of the artist. It is quite voluminous as it made quite a long journey. It may boast of multiple line drawings. Some of his recent larger paintings took shape from those practice sketches. After traversing a long way and accumulating numerous experiences Jogen Chowdhury gradually turned into ‘Jo ‘ in modern Indian artistic milieu; this sketchbook bears the signature of his transformation into ‘Jo’.
