মোট ৫১টি কবিতাকে সাজানো হয়েছে সময়ক্রম মেনে, এবং সেক্ষেত্রে অতীত থেকে শুরু করে ক্রমশ সাম্প্রতিক কবিতায় এসে শেষ হয়েছে এই বই। অবলম্বন করা হয়েছে কবিতাগুলির প্রকাশকালকেই। তবে কবির অভিপ্রায়কে স্মরণে রেখেই তাঁর মৃত্যু-পরবর্তী সময়ে প্রকাশিত কয়েকটি কবিতার প্রকাশকালের পরিবর্তে অনুসরণ করা হয়েছে রচনাকালকে। অপ্রকাশিত কয়েকটি লেখাও রয়েছে রচনাকালের ক্রম অনুযায়ী। জীবনের একেবারে সায়াহ্নকালে ছোটো ছোটো, একেবারে অন্যরকমের কবিতা লিখতে চাইছিলেন তিনি, বুঝি অন্য এক অভিযাত্রা শুরু হয়েছিল তাঁর। সেসবও এই বইয়ের অলংকার।

51 poems have been arranged maintaining chronology, and thus this book starts from the past and gradually ends with the recent poems. The time of publication has been strictly followed.  For some of the poems published posthumously, their time of composition have been followed instead of the date of publication to honour the poet’s wish. Some of the unpublished works have been included according to their time of composition. During the evening of his life, he tried his hand in composing smaller, somewhat different sorts of poems, he seemed to begin a different exploration. Those poems are the adornment of the book.
